More details:
Very interesting and unique 19th century still life oil painting on wood panel in the original frame. In the center of the painting, a guitar can be seen, which is in an armchair in front of the window in the sunlight in a former contemporary room – a living room. On the other hand, in the upper left corner of an Impressionist work, an almost Cubist composition imagined by the painter (ahead of his time) can be seen hidden on the wall. The guitar motif was also popular in later cubist works (Georges Braque). A very interesting piece that mixes styles.
Condition: Good condition, it shows its age, minor loss of paint, ready to hang. Original frame. More information about condition: email me

Origin: France, c.1890 painter : Pierre Henry Bessede ( 1846 – 1918 )
Style and Period: #impressionist #signsofcubism #guitar #music #sound #interior #armchair #relax #calm #antique #french A very special work of art, which at first glance is made in an impressionist style, but already bears faint signs of later cubism. Basically, it can be said that it is an impressionistic representation. Still life with guitar. The guitar as an instrument sometimes plays and thus gives a musical experience. The light pouring in through the window perfectly illuminates the central object – the guitar. Sound and light effect in one.
Symbolism: Guitar- sophistication, cultivation, peace, contentment Armchair- return of hope after loss, support, loneliness , place to rest The message of the painting is “ This is the time to sit comfortably and relax, enjoy the peace”.
