About

I am a fan of art like you, and I’d like to present you my special art collection, mostly from the 18^th, 19^th and early 20^th centuries.

I was raised by a classic European family, surrounded by art. My family from both sides have roots to the world of art, my mother was an art historian and arts dealer, and my father was a painter. I learnt from my mom what makes an art valuable and a lot of specific knowledge about styles, periods, historical backgrounds and how to manage an art gallery. My father gave me his incredible taste and technical information about forms, shapes, balance and colours.

After all this it’s not a surprise that I chose to go to study art history at The Open University.

Once my gallery was only my personal art collection made up of items I got from my family. Shortly I realised that I was spending a lot of time looking up art online or in classic art galleries and I felt motivated to buy new items to add to my collection. And so, it became richer and richer at least to my own eyes. I collect landscapes, still life and portraits on non-nude female characters from the end of the 18^th, 19^th and early 20^th centuries. The name “TimeCapsule “came from the idea of the period I’m interested in and basically that overarched the 19^th century. In art history we can not rely on calendars to draw borders between styles, we need to be more flexible and look at each century a bit more openly at the beginning and at the end of it.

Time passed and my collection became richer and needed more place to store. During the pandemic I decided to make a change in my work and get busy with something that makes me happy and may feel more like a hobby… and that was the moment when the idea was born- to open an online art gallery!

TimeCapsule Gallery offers you lectures on art history (with special focus on paintings) and an opportunity to get new items for your home or collection or as a gift for someone.
